Alright folks. So, it turns out the grass IS greener on the other side.
The Preston Farmers market was a great success. The co-managers Kelly Butler & Chris Penton were so welcoming, and my fellow vendors (Nosh Nerds, Bez Gluten-Free, Purple Urchin, The Veggie Underground CSA, Foster Family Farm, Helios Farm, Knock Out Beef, Face to Grace, Top Shelf Preserves, C&A Custom Creations and Kracker’s Katering) were such a pleasure to talk to. East of Gatineau and Washboard Sue filled my ears with eclectic and beautiful music, making the atmosphere perfect to show off my creations.
My favorite part of the day was meeting Meagan Hanes from “The life and times of Meagan Hanes“. I was standing at my table, feeling somewhat self-conscious and thinking about my recent choices, when this bubbly girl comes over to my table. She was so full of life with such a kind energy about her, and we quickly slipped into conversation. We talked about artistic expression, life choices, our goals/wants/wishes, and the importance of being true to ones self. She reminded me that I was on the right track, and gave me the confidence to face the day. Thanks Meagan!
This week I’m focused on building my inventory, and finding more fairs and markets in the Ottawa area. Stay tuned for sneak peeks and new stock!
Ta for now.
